Croydon Vision is indebted to a strong team of dedicated volunteers who work alongside the permanent staff in supporting its members. We are extremely grateful to all those who willingly commit a couple of hours, half a day or a day or two a week to assist with our varied services and activities. Opportunities for volunteering include office administration, leading social groups and discussions, preparing and serving lunches, guiding on outside visits, occasional driving, and helping with group activities (for further details see under Services on this website).
Whilst we are keen to benefit from our volunteers’ existing skills, training and guidance in specific tasks and in supporting people with disabilities will always be provided. The Volunteer Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable working experience and is open to suggestions, discussion and feedback at any time.
Vacancies for volunteers will normally be advertised here. We welcome applicants who have a visual impairment themselves and we will try to match them to appropriate roles. As we work with vulnerable adults of all ages, security checks including a current Disclosure and Barring Certificate are required.
If you would like to be considered as a potential volunteer, please email email@example.com and request a Volunteer Form.
If you require a paper or large print copy, or if you would like to discuss the opportunity, please contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator using the above email address, or telephone 020 8688 2486.
Croydon Vision is an independent charity supporting blind and visually impaired adults and children living in the London Borough of Croydon. We welcome donations and legacies to supplement the funding we receive for some core activities from grant-giving bodies such as the Greater London Fund for the Blind and Croydon Council or generated by our own bidding and money-raising efforts. Legacies and donations are vital to support additional activities and special projects for the benefit of our members. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of all past and existing donors.
The formal title of Croydon Vision is Croydon Voluntary Association for the Blind Ltd, and the registered charity number is 1165086. Cheques payable to CVAB Ltd (abbreviated title) should be sent to Croydon Vision, 72-74 Wellesley Road, Croydon, CR0 2AR.
If you would like us to claim Gift Aid on your donation, please request the form. A Standing Order form is available via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
