Croydon Vision is indebted to a strong team of dedicated volunteers who work alongside the permanent staff in supporting its members. We are extremely grateful to all those who willingly commit a couple of hours, half a day or a day or two a week to assist with our varied services and activities. Opportunities for volunteering include office administration, leading social groups and discussions, preparing and serving lunches, guiding on outside visits, occasional driving, and helping with group activities (for further details see under Services on this website).
Whilst we are keen to benefit from our volunteers’ existing skills, training and guidance in specific tasks and in supporting people with disabilities will always be provided. The Volunteer Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable working experience and is open to suggestions, discussion and feedback at any time.
Vacancies for volunteers will normally be advertised here. We welcome applicants who have a visual impairment themselves and we will try to match them to appropriate roles. As we work with vulnerable adults of all ages, security checks including a current Disclosure and Barring Certificate are required.
If you would like to be considered as a potential volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of the role that interests you most.
If you require a paper or large print copy, or if you would like to discuss the opportunity,
please contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator using the above email address, or telephone 020 8688 2486.
